Beth Sparboe Schnell Scholarship in Agriculture and Business

1. Recipients shall be enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences majoring in agricultural business, animal science, food science, or nutritional science.
2. Recipients shall demonstrate exemplary leadership skills as determined by the administering authority and as evidenced by their active participation in extracurricular activities which involves directing actions, holding office, chairing committees, and/or receipt of awards. Examples of extracurricular activities include involvement in recognized student organizations, professional organizations, or community service.
3. Recipients shall have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
4. Recipients shall be participating in student organizations or university programs that have a focus on promoting females in industry, as determined by the administering authority and as permitted by Federal and State law and University policy.
5. Recipients shall be United States citizens or permanent residents, as permitted by Federal and State law and University policy.
6. Preference shall be given in the following order as determined by the administering authority and as permitted by Federal and State law and University policy:
a. Recipients shall have verified financial need, as documented by the University Office of Student Financial Aid.
b. Recipients shall be students from the Midwest, with Midwest defined as students from Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, South Dakota, or Wisconsin.
This award shall be made available to students of undergraduate class standing.
