Provost Scholars Program - 2026/2027

To support Iowa State University’s strategic goal of being the most student-centric, leading research university and expand its research mission, the Office of the Senior Vice President and Provost is pleased to announce the Provost Scholars program.

This program will help ensure high-quality experiences for undergraduate students, allowing them to work on research projects with faculty members, and encouraging lifelong learning and pathways to graduate education. These scholars will meet with Provost Jason Keith on a regular basis. The goal of this program will be for students to write and present their research at a national conference and/or in archival journals or exhibits.

Students will be invited to submit a brief application consisting of a one-page resume and a one-page personal statement focused on research/academic goals. From this pool a cohort of up to 25 scholars will be selected each year. Renewal criteria include a cumulative 2.5 or greater ISU GPA and in good academic standing.

The Provost Scholars Award will be constrained to the student’s cost of attendance. Financial aid awards may be reduced if the total of awards exceed the student’s cost of attendance.
