Dr. Dixie O'Connell Overton Scholarship for STEM Students

1. Recipients shall be enrolled in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) program.
2. Recipients shall have verified financial need, as documented by the University Office of Student Financial Aid.
3. Recipients shall have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
4. Recipients shall be students who through their experiences, activities, and academic work will contribute to student body diversity, as determined by the administering authority and as permitted by Federal and State law and University policy.
5. Preference shall be given to students who have demonstrated leadership or significant participation in an organization(s) open to all but whose missions seek to advance the needs of populations historically underrepresented in higher education, as determined by the administering authority and as permitted by Federal and State law and University policy.
5. Preference shall be given to female students as permitted by Federal and State law and University Policy.
