Thurman and Geraldine Gaskill Memorial Scholarship
1. Recipients shall be enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
2. Recipients shall be participating in the Start Something College of Agriculture and Life Sciences program as determined by the administering authority.
3. Recipients shall demonstrate excellence in entrepreneurship by developing a concept or idea that benefits farmers and the agriculture economy. Examples of benefits include, but are not limited to, enabling Iowa farmers to differentiate their products, improving farmer’s productivity, or expanding markets for Iowa’s goods and services, as determined by the administering authority.
4. Recipients shall be students in good academic standing as determined by the administering authority.
5. Recipients shall be Iowa high school graduates or students who have been Iowa residents for at least two (2) years prior to enrolling at the University, as permitted by Federal and State law and University policy.
6. Preference shall be given to students who grew up on a family farm, as determined by the administering authority.
This award shall be made available to students of junior, senior, or graduate class standing.
