Jon Fleming Endowed Scholarship Fund

1. Recipients shall be members or prospective members of the Alpha Mu Chapter of Theta Chi Fraternity, as determined by the administering authority.
2. Recipients shall be living in the chapter facility or those who have signed fraternity housing contacts with the intention of moving into the chapter facility, as determined by the administering authority. The one (1) exception to this would be if the scholarship committee provides an award for prospective new members.
This award shall be made available to full-time students of undergraduate class standing.

Administration: A scholarship committee will consist of alumni and undergraduate members. Alumni shall represent greater than fifty percent (50%) of the committee, be appointed by the Alumni Corporation Board (ACB ), and may not be a member of that ACB. From this pool of alumni members, the ACB will appoint a chair of the committee. Undergraduate representation will be recommended by the chapter president, with approval by the chair of the committee. Once established, the committee will decide the length of terms. This committee will replace the current scholarship committee. The scholarship committee’s charge will be to develop an awards structure and determine award recipients.
Awards will be contingent on the chapter house and property being alcohol and substance free. Exceptions to this are at the discretion of the ACB but will be limited; a) to hosting special alumni events without revising the alcohol/substance free housing status or b) if the board feels that alcohol/substance free housing is a significant detriment to the well-being of the fraternity or places it at a disadvantage within the community and chooses to change this policy.
In the unlikely event the chapter is not recognized by the University or the national fraternity, awards will not be distributed during this time unless this period exceeds three (3) years at which time the alumni members of the scholarship committee will administer a scholarship program which distributes awards to current Iowa State University students who are a legacy of the Alpha Mu chapter.
