Maribeth Henney Scholarship

Recipients shall be majoring in either elementary education or early childhood education. Recipients shall be currently enrolled in or have completed one course in reading. Recipients of this scholarship agree to participate in a reading related service such as reading to children at least five times in an elementary classroom, make reading/language arts practice materials for use in a classroom, help a teacher prepare a unit by search for and listing children’s literature books appropriate for a selected unit topic, tutor a child needing extra help in reading for a semester, or tutor a university student needing help in reading for a semester. This service requirement is beyond any class expectations. Recipients shall be of undergraduate class standing.
