Neil Alexander Scholarship (Secondary Education)
Recipients shall be majoring in one of the following areas: first preference shall be for history-social sciences majors, second preference shall be for physical education majors and third preference shall be for science majors (e.g. Biology, Chemistry, Earth Sciences, and Physics). Recipients shall exhibit a commitment to becoming licensed in secondary teacher education. Recipients shall be residents of the State of Iowa as permitted by Federal and State law, and University policy. Recipients who are incoming freshman students shall have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.2 on a 4.0 scale from their high school. If the recipients have a sophomore, junior or senior class standing they shall have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. This award shall be made available to students of undergraduate class standing. Scholarship may be renewed so long as recipients continue to meet stated criteria.
