ISU Working Scholars Award
1. Recipients shall be full-time students who are graduates of Iowa high schools as permitted by Federal and State law and University policy and enrolled or admitted to any undergraduate major at Iowa State University.
2. Recipients shall have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale.
3. Recipients shall have verified financial need, as documented by the University Office of Student Financial Aid with preference given to Federal Pell Grant eligible students, as determined by the administering authority.
4. Recipients shall be/have been working at the time of application as determined by the Office of Student Financial Aid through review of the scholarship application process.
5. Recipients shall be one of the following majors: aerospace engineering, agricultural engineering, agricultural systems technology, agronomy, animal science, biochemistry, bioinformatics and computational biology, biological systems engineering, biology, biomedical engineering, business analytics, chemical engineering, chemistry, civil engineering, computer engineering, computer science, construction engineering, cybersecurity engineering, data science, electrical engineering, environmental science, forestry, genetics, geology, global resource systems, industrial engineering, industrial technology, management information systems, materials science and engineering, mathematics, mechanical engineering, microbiology, physics, software engineering, or statistics. As well as the majors listed above, students enrolled in pre-medical, pre-health, or pre-veterinary programs shall also be eligible. The Donor or his nephew shall be consulted if other majors are to be added to this list.
6. Recipients shall complete the following scholarship application questions, which will be used to determine award selection and alignment with the Donors’ Statement of Donor Intent:
· Explain your family’s financial situation and if it presents obstacles to pursuing your degree.
· What are your educational and career goals?
This award shall be made available to students of sophomore class standing.
