Cardinal and Gold Scholarship

Recipients shall be residents of the State of Iowa as permitted by Federal and State law, and University policy. Recipients shall be full-time students at Iowa State University with the definition of full-time being enrolled with a minimum of twelve (12) credit hours. Recipients shall have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale. Recipients shall have demonstrated financial need as determined by the Office of Student Financial Aid. Preference shall be given to applicants from households where neither parent received a four-year college degree as determined by the administering authority. Students currently receiving full in-state tuition scholarships will not be considered for this scholarship as determined by the administering authority. All awards shall be for one (1) year and may not be renewed. This award shall be made available to students of junior class standing.

One student will be selected from each of the six undergraduate colleges as permitted by the availability of funding based on the annual earnings. Among the six recipients, each of Iowa’s four congressional districts (which include two “at large” candidates) will be represented if possible.
