Kathleen Carothers Geoffroy Scholarship

This scholarship is available to students who are female, entering first-year students and majoring in one of the STEM areas (science, technology, engineering or mathematics). Recipients shall have demonstrated financial need as determined by the Office of Student Financial Aid. Recipients shall have a minimum cumulative high school grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Recipients shall maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale for renewal of the scholarship for their sophomore year.

All awards shall be for one (1) year and shall be renewed for three (3) additional years so long as recipients continue to meet the above stated criteria.

The Donor would like to have four (4) recipients each year, one first-year, one sophomore, one junior, and one senior. Should a student not be eligible for renewal by virtue of not meeting the minimum grade point average requirement, change of major out of a STEM field, or leaving the university, a student of equivalent class year shall be identified to fill that slot. The Donor would like the amount of the scholarships to be as near to full tuition as possible based on the available funding and students’ financial needs, prioritizing the funds first to the first-year recipient, then to the sophomore, junior and senior recipients in that order.
