- The Sesquicentennial Learning to Live a Life Leadership Award, established by the University's Sesquicentennial committee, takes it name from a quote by M. J. Riggs, class of 1883: "We come to college not alone to prepare to make a living, but to learn to live a life." This award recognizes a student who has taken advantage of opportunities at ISU to apply his/her knowledge to real life projects and experiences. Such experiences may include, but are not limited to:
*Taking the lead to create unique, successful service projects.
*Demonstrating impressive leadership through research or internship opportunities.
*Exhibiting exemplary leadership in creating or managing national or international projects.
Submit an essay describing your real-life project(s) or experience, and how it has impacted your ability to learn how to live a life after graduation. - If applicable, submit accompanying examples of publicity, honors, or promotional materials about the project(s) or experience.
- Provide the names and emails of three references who are familiar with the cited project(s) or experiences, and will submit letters of recommendation.
