Virginia H. Richards Scholarship for Green Hills Retirement Community Employees

Recipients shall be enrolled at least part-time in a degree program at Iowa State University. Recipients shall be employed by Green Hills Retirement Community on at least a part-time basis, as determined by the administering authority. Recipients shall work in a front-line care position at Green Hills Retirement Community such as, but not limited to, nurses, nurse’s aides, and food service staff, as determined by the administering authority. Recipients shall have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Preference shall be given to recipients who have been employed at Green Hills Retirement Community for a minimum of 3 months. This award shall be made available to students of undergraduate class standing.

Administration: If at any time Green Hills Retirement Community ceases to exist the Donors would like to continue supporting students who are employed at the facility if it continues as a health care or assisted living facility. If the facility no longer provides health care or assisted living services, the funding shall be used to support students in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program with preference given to students who have stated intent to pursue a career caring for the elderly.
