Jon and Gail Ware Scholarship
1. Recipients shall have been involved in the foster care system as determined by the administering authority.
2. Recipients shall be Iowa residents as permitted by Federal and State law and University policy.
3. Preference shall be given in the following order as determined by the administering authority and as permitted by Federal and State law and University policy:
a. Students with verified financial need, as documented by the University Office of Student Financial Aid.
b. First-generation college students.
c. Students who have had a challenging life circumstance or responsibility that creates a financial hardship as they pursue their college degree.
This award shall be made available to full-time students of undergraduate class standing.
Administration: The Donors request that the scholarships be as near as possible to full in-state tuition, based on available funds. If the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) no longer provides information regarding foster care involvement, the administering authority shall add a mechanism for students to verify foster care information using the OneApp award management system.
