Steve Maloney Memorial Scholarship

1. Recipients shall have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
2. Recipients shall be majoring in civil, construction or environmental engineering, with a preference for students majoring in construction engineering.
3. Recipients shall be students who demonstrate experience or interest in “green” or sustainability studies, as determined by the administering authority. Examples of this may include, but are not limited to, students who are enrolled in or have completed CE 594L (a construction engineering course related to LEED – Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) or CE 388 (Sustainable Engineering and International Development), membership in a student organization with a sustainability focus such as Engineers Without Borders, ISU Emerging Green Builders, Student Environmental Council or the Green Umbrella, or previous internship or work experience with a focus on sustainability.
4. Preference shall be given to graduates of Dowling Catholic High School in West Des Moines, Iowa.
This award shall be made available to students of sophomore, junior or senior class standing.

Administration: The award amount should be $1,000 per year so long as funding is available, and awards should be made annually until the account balance is exhausted. The College of Engineering shall provide recipients with a copy of the Statement of Donor Intent.
