Stewart and Carol Melvin Scholarship

1. Recipients shall be enrolled in the Department of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering in the College of Engineering.
2. Recipients shall be residents of the State of Iowa as permitted by Federal and State law, and University policy.
3. Recipients shall have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale or be in the top 25% of their graduating class for incoming freshman students.
4. First preference shall be given to students who are on a career path for consulting or public service in soil, water and environmental management as determined by the administering authority.
5. Second preference shall be given to students who were raised on a farm or have a farm background as determined by the administering authority.

All awards shall be for one (1) year and may be renewed at the discretion of the administering authority so long as recipients continue to meet the above stated criteria. This award shall be made available to students of undergraduate class standing.
