Lawrence and Carol Harsha Engineering Scholarship

Recipients shall be enrolled in the College of Engineering. Recipients shall be from central Iowa, defined as the counties of Story, Boone, Hamilton, Hardin, Jasper, Marshall, Greene, Webster, Wright, Franklin, Gundy or Tama, Iowa as permitted by Federal and State law, and University policy. Recipients shall have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale. Recipients shall have demonstrated financial need as determined by the Office of Student Financial Aid. Recipients shall be United States citizens as permitted by Federal and State law, and University policy. First preference shall be given to students from a rural background as determined by the administering authority. Second preference shall be given to students majoring in civil engineering. If there are no eligible students majoring in civil engineering, students majoring in agricultural engineering or mechanical engineering may be selected. All awards shall be for one (1) year and shall be renewed so long as recipients continue to meet the above stated criteria. This award shall be made available to students of sophomore or higher class standing, and shall be renewed per Section III, paragraph B. above.

The Donors would like two (2) scholarships in the amount of $1,000 each to be awarded each year so long as funding is available. If the remaining funds in the account aren’t enough for two (2) $1,000 scholarships the amount available shall be divided evenly between the recipients.
