Dwight and Marilyn Conover Freshman Scholarship
1. Recipients shall be enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
2. Recipients shall have a minimum cumulative high school grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
3. Recipients shall be Iowa residents with preference given to students who are from Adair, Adams, Audubon, Boone, Buena Vista, Calhoun, Carroll, Cass, Cherokee, Clarke, Clay, Crawford, Dallas, Decatur, Dickinson, Emmet, Fremont, Greene, Guthrie, Hamilton, Hancock, Harrison, Humboldt, Ida, Kossuth, Lyon, Madison, Mills, Monona, Montgomery, O’Brien, Osceola, Page, Palo Alto, Plymouth, Pocahontas, Polk, Pottawattamie, Ringgold, Sac, Shelby, Sioux, Story, Union, Webster, Winnebago, Woodbury, or Wright counties in Iowa, as permitted by Federal and State law and University policy.
4. Through the application process recipients shall indicate how receipt of this scholarship will help them achieve success in their academic career.
5. First preference shall be given to students who have demonstrated leadership as evidenced by participation in extracurricular or community organizations and activities. Examples of extracurricular activities include involvement in recognized student organizations, professional organizations, or community service.
6. Second preference shall be given to students majoring in agricultural business.
This award shall be made available to incoming freshman students or first year full-time students enrolled in 12 or more credit hours per semester. This scholarship may be renewed so long as recipients continue to meet stated criteria.
