Wise Scholarships in Agriculture
Recipients shall be active participants on campus, in student clubs, churches or community organizations, as determined by the administering authority. Recipients shall be U. S. citizens as allowed by Federal and State law, and University policy. Recipients shall be within the top 25% of their class, or if identified as a student with much potential and in need of assistance, within the top 33% of their class. The prior year’s grade point average will be used to determine overall class ranking, as determined by the administering authority and as determined by the Office of Student Financial Aid. Recipients shall be pursuing a degree related to applied plant and/or fertilizer production, as determined by the administering authority. Degree areas could include studies such as agronomy, botany, entomology, agricultural engineering fields, applied genetics, marketing, food safety, climatology, irrigation, horticulture, forestry, golf course management, landscaping, etc. Recipients may be in any major, with the exception of the Pre Vet major, in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, as long as the administering authority can make the determination that the applicant has interests in applied plant and/or fertilizer production. This award shall be made available to students of junior or senior class standing.
Administration: Scholarships are to be awarded in the amount of $5,000 each. The number of scholarships awarded will be based on the availability of funding.
