LGBTQIA+ Scholarship Application

The Center for LGBTQIA+ Student Success awards five different scholarships at Iowa State University that recognizes undergraduate and graduate students who contribute to LGBTQIA+ leadership, initiatives, and more on campus.

The five scholarships are:
• 1100007 – Craig E. Claussen LGBTQIA+ Endowed Scholarship
• 2700561 – Walter J. Allen and Shaun B. Keister Scholarship Fund
• 1100006 – Scott Rohlf Presidential Leadership Initiative Award
• 2705715 – Klinge Student Scholarship
• 2705716 – Lew Klinge Stud Abroad Scholarship
• 2705394 – LGBTQIA+ General Scholarship Fund

    The scholarship selection committee will evaluate your answers based on the criteria outlined in each of your answers. All answers to the following essay questions should be between 100-5-- words. Strong answers will provide specific details regarding involvements, goals, and personal experiences.

    Please share about your current and past leadership/involvement at ISU, including your role(s) or other details that would be helpful in explaining the breadth of your involvement(s).
  6. Please share what experiences you've had in promoting, supporting, or enhancing LGBTQIA+ visibility, community, engagement, and/or action at ISU.
  7. Have you been active in, affiliated with, or benefited from the Center for LGBTQIA+ Student Success? If so, please describe below.
    You may also include any ways you have demonstrated leadership or involvement through our initiatives (LGBTQIA+ Community Welcome, Community Socials, The Center to Go, the Center space, etc.)
  8. Why is being involved with the LGBTQIA+ community at ISU important to you?
