Dwight and Marilyn Conover Freshman Scholarship

Recipients shall be enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. Recipients shall have a minimum cumulative high school grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Recipients shall be residents of the State of Iowa as permitted by Federal and State law, and University policy with preference given to students who reside in the western half of the State defined as west of Interstate 35. Through the application process recipients shall indicate how receipt of this scholarship will help them achieve success in their academic career. First preference shall be given to students who have demonstrated leadership as evidenced by participation in extracurricular or community organizations and activities. Examples of extracurricular activities include involvement in recognized student organizations, professional organizations, or community service. Second preference shall be given to students majoring in agricultural business. This award shall be made available to incoming freshman students or first year full-time students enrolled in 12 or more credit hours per semester. This scholarship may be renewed so long as recipients continue to meet stated criteria.

The Donors would like these scholarships to be of significant benefit to the recipients and ask that scholarships be awarded at a minimum of $2,000 each so long as there are sufficient funds available.
