International Students and Scholars--General Application

Every semester, ISSO awards scholarships to degree-seeking students who have documented financial need. ISSO awards multiple scholarships from a variety of funding sources. A significant portion of the scholarship funds come from the International Student Tuition.

Criteria

  • Applicants must have a valid immigration status and have been enrolled at ISU in a current degree-seeking program level for the Spring 2023 and Fall 2023 semesters.
  • Preference will be given to students who demonstrate financial need. While your academic pursuits, research, and merit are very important, please focus on explaining your financial need.
  • Applicants must meet all additional criteria listed under each scholarship.
  • ALL scholarships require an essay from the candidate explaining their financial need, and how the scholarship award will be used (500 word max.) Some scholarships require an additional essay to address individual scholarship criteria (500 word max.)
  • Students participating in Post-Completion OPT/STEM OPT/Post-Completion Academic Training are not eligible.
  • Preference will be given to students who did NOT receive a scholarship from the ISSO in the previous semester.
