Cargill thrive Scholarship
1. Recipients shall be degree-seeking students enrolled in one (1) of the following majors: accounting, agriculture systems technology, agricultural business, agricultural economics, agricultural education, agricultural engineering, agricultural studies, agriculture and society, agronomy, animal science, biochemistry, biology (CALS), biosystems engineering, business analytics, business economics, chemical engineering, chemistry, communication studies, dairy science, economics, electrical engineering, environmental engineering, environmental science (CALS), finance, food science, global resource systems, industrial engineering, management, management information systems, marketing, mechanical engineering, microbiology, or supply chain management.
2. Recipients shall be students who will contribute to student body diversity. In evaluating student body diversity, preference will be given to students who are underrepresented at the University or in their applicable major or program at the time of the award, as determined by the administering authority and as permitted by Federal and State law and University policy.
3. Recipients shall have verified financial need as documented by the University Office of Student Financial Aid.
4. Preference shall be given in the following order as determined by the administering authority and as permitted by Federal and State law and University policy:
a) Active participants in leadership programs such as, but not limited to, George Washington Carver Scholars, Multicultural Vision Program, Academic Program for Excellence, Women in Science and Engineering and Science Bound.
b) First generation students.
This award shall be made available to students of undergraduate class standing.
Administration: It is the Donor’s preference that the first ten (10) scholarships be awarded to students of sophomore and junior class standing and after the first ten (10) the pool shall be opened up to students of freshman, sophomore, junior and senior class standing.
The Donor wishes to interact with the Cargill thrive Scholars and will offer opportunities to engage with the organization throughout the year.
