1. Prior to the receipt of an estate gift:
As many $5,000 scholarships as can be sustained by the annual earnings will be awarded. Any unused earnings will be reinvested into the endowment.
2. After the receipt of an estate gift (following the death of the second of the Donors):
The Foundation and the University will determine the number of scholarships, based on an award amount of $5,000 that can be supported by the projected earnings from the endowment. This determination will set the number of scholarships to be awarded annually, and this number will not change. Going forward, the annual earnings will be distributed equally to the set number of scholarships. The dollar amount of each scholarship may vary, rather than the number of scholarships. Any unused earnings will be reinvested into the endowment.
