Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation Jay N. Ding Darling Scholarship
Recipients shall be enrolled in the Department of Natural Resource Ecology and Management. Recipients shall have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or above on a scale of 4.0. Recipients shall, in addition to their required major courses, be required to pursue course work and activities that may enable them to effectively interpret the principles of conservation of the nation’s natural, cultural and historic resources to the general public as defined by enrollment in communications or interpretation course work, participation in internships and involvement in school and/or community activities that relate directly to conservation promotion/education. Preference shall be given to students who display leadership by participating in school, professional organizations and community service activities. Evidence of this involvement may include such things as holding office, serving on a committee, or receiving honors and awards from a recognized student, professional or community organization. This scholarship shall be made available to students with sophomore or higher class standing. This scholarship may be renewed so long as recipients continue to meet stated criteria.
